What bass do you plan to get next?

My TB-induced GAS is just about satisfied at nine basses. I just need one more: a six-string semi-hollowbody 34" scale, with a Graph Tech piezo bridge, Nordstrand HC Big Blades, Moses Graphite fretless neck radiused at 10", TI flats, and Hipshot de-tuners for each string, tuned E/D, A/G, D/C, G/F, C/B, F/E (no pics available because it doesn't exist yet). Then I'd be at ten basses, and hopefully wouldn't be tempted to start over, as Carlis recommends.

If I could commit to the practice time required to play decently, I'd also get a single-cut upright bass.

Oh, yeah, and if I could locate it, I'd buy back the Ric in my pic that I traded for a Fender Jazz 30 years ago.

I love to go to stores and check out new basses. As most of you know, it does not take much to make me GAS, but it usually calms down quickly. I really like the Music Man Caprice, but when I a/b'ed with my DJ5, my GAS calmed down. I know I will buy more basses, but I would be happy if I just kept what I have.

Not really gassing and short on cash because of an A/C system, but a Sire V7 5er. And, looking to make a lifestyle change that will probably mean mean I have to pare down from 6 to 2 or 3. That ain't gonna be easy.

I am pretty satisfied with my current stable of 7 basses.. Out of those 7 two are 4s , 4 are 5s and one is a 6... Truth be told .... if I were pressed to sell one, especially one of the 5s, I would have a hard time deciding which one to let go... and I don't really need another bass ... Having said that .. there are still a few other basses I would like to check out ... I am not really gassing for them mind you... It isn't like everytime I come on here I am looking in the classifieds to see if one is there (like I did with a few of my current basses.. ) ...... but if I did have some extra cash ... I could see myself picking up one or all these basses on this list at some point ...


Sire M7 - I am very curious about this bass... on paper it looks great and honstly .. I guess you could say this is the closest to the "gas" bass out of all of them...

Some kind of P/J or P?MM bass... still not sure which..... I a,lways wanted to find out what the deal was with that P thing.. and I was just not that impressed when I played one in a store but then... I really don't think you can get a really accurate picture of a bass while in a store... unless it is just extremely good or bad....

A G&L 2500 ... I am really curious about this bass as well.... I would like to see what the end result of Leo's dream was....

What is on your list? I am not talking about fantasy basses ... or what would you get if you had 7K to spend on a bass... or even what bass are you actually planning to get next ..... just what kind of real world stuff is potentially down the road for you if it works out that way.....

A nice L-2500 is a great bass. I think you would like one. As for a P/J, I think the Music Man Caprice is great. My favorites are reverse P/Js because the slap tone is closer to a Jazz. I would love a Sandberg, but they are around $5K. Maruszczyk out of Poland has a much more affordable price.

I've bought a hundred basses to have something just a little different from my #1, and subsequently sold a hundred basses because I don't like them as much as my #1. I even built a duplicate of my #1 in a different color (in my avatar) and ended up taking it back apart because it was either too the same or it was too different, I can't remember. Anyway right now I am really looking forward to finding just the right fretless Stingray for me to get super excited about and then end up being dissatisfied with the for exact reason I wanted it in the first place.

I'd like to replace my MIA jazz by a G&L jazz. Also, if I happen to like fretless more and more, probably a G&L fretless fiver.
And I guess I'll have to get, at some more or less distant point in the future, either a Rickenbacker or a Gibson.
I know that Rics are regularly worshipped on this forum and Gibsons looked down upon, but I haven't yet taken the time to try them thoroughly and I'm not so easily influenced (cause it better be my mistake than someone else's).

I am good for solid body, fretless, and hollow body. Would be mostly interested in EUB like NS design. Since heart surgery, the nerves on the left side of my chest are messed up and I can't stand anything leaning on it. All girl hugging is now right side only so I miss out on some things.....

The L-2500 is not like a Jazz at all. It is like a Cirrus or Ken Smith, but more aggressive and raw. It can get sweet if you learn how to work it.

At one point I was up to five basses, but I am now down to one very versatile bass, my EBMM Big Al 4 SSS. It can cover almost everything I want to do with a 4-string. My next bass, when it comes, will most likely be a cheap SUB Stingray 5 so I can have a fiver and not feel guilty about beating up a more costly bass with metal and punk picking.

I have way too many basses, and some nice ones to. They make me happy. But the one I am itching to try is a Peavey T-40.

They don't come up on our local Craig's list very often, and when they do, they cost too much.

for me the Epiphone T-Birds sound amazing in the store.......better than many of the Ibby's Yammy's and Fendy's , but that is IMHO.....might want to rent one before I buy to see if it is comfortable to play and sounds as good as I think in a loud jam situation.....
