I've played dozens of brands of basses, but not Gibsons. I'll back out of this one.

I hesitate to say it, but would Mike Lull have done something like that? I'm not all that familiar with Lulls, except that he does excellent versions of T-birds.
I can't get a good enough look at the headstock, but I only know so many custom manufacturers that do Gibson style basses, and the Go-Go's could certainly have afforded whatever they wanted at that point for axes.
