- I privately own and operate a local musical instument repair shop.
Mine was from the first batch of 20 basses, 1981 from what I recall. It had a conventional metal bridge not the wooden bridge most later ones had. The one in the picture above looks to have the wooden bridge. Mine also only had a magnetic pickup, no piezo. It had been de-fretted. I sent it back to Rick to have it re-fretted and gone over. I no longer own it, a decision I sometimes regret. I'd love too own another with both a mag and a piezo pickup.

I was going to say, less than two dozen was a number Rick threw out in conversation one time, but since we can't source the guy himself anymore, your word is gold my friend.
They are hens teeth for sure. *wish mine had that old-school bridge...
...but it does okay.
I recall Rick saying "20 or so basses" and that they were spread out over a year or so. That's a beauty!
If you can find a copy, check out the video release High Grass Dogs which highlighted this series of shows. Love the version of "Jammin' Me" that kicks it off.

That is gorgeous! I'd love to have one but even if you could find it, I'm afraid it would be a tad out of my budget.
