What Bass would Jaco be playing?

Bobby Meyers (rip), Mark Colby (rip), Peter Graves, Tracy & Jaco (rip)….
Jerry Jemmott (that knew him well and did the modern electric bass video) said in a recent interview when asked the same question..... Jaco was a true traditional bass player and he would have stuck with four strings. The interviewers had asked whether he would be playing more than four strings the answer was a strong NO I DONT THINK SO!
I think Marcus Miller would talk Jaco into a Sire fretless or maybe even a fretted and Jaco would de-fret it himself.
Wow! I have seen many photos of Jaco but never this one and definitely only ever seen two with Tracy in, this looks like some kind of wedding reception?
Funny I have often considered the fact that being a traditionalist he would likely have stayed with four strings but with this in addition he would have possibly tried out a short scale because of the things you can do with short versus standard!
Yes, it was a wedding in Miami, but there are no other details on the photo and we can't remember whose wedding it was!
Did you know Jaco personally ? Is Tracy still living I have often wondered this also?
I had the pleasure of meeting him and watching him play from 5 feet away not long ago while opening for his group He was very kind and both complimented me and let the wife take a photo of us. He is/was amazing and was rocking a 4 string J himself. I believe this about Jaco.
Wow! you are a blessed one! I would love to have met him.... did you notice how if his action was low or high by any chance? Also I even changed my middle name to Pastorius to honour him, some people think its odd but I wanted to do this to honour him, I am a true Jaco nut so to speak. Bless his spirit truly.
I studied with Jerry Jemmott during the 80’s. He lived in NYC on the Upper West Side. Great guy and excellent teacher. I saw his band Souler Energy perform many times in NYC as well.. all star line up of NYC session guys at Mikells. Arlen Roth was in the band..
Weird how so many people that knew Jaco or met him seem so reluctant to discuss anything about him, I have noticed this when I have spoken to people about this...... Jaco was such a great person yet nobody that knew him seems to want to answer perfectly benign questions about him Why? Does anyone know this? I spoke to Brian Melvin once....... complete arrogance personified would not talk about anything. People seem to close like books as soon as you ask questions like some secret society its just weird. I don't ask personal or private questions as huge fan I just want to get to know what he was like to be around as I was not even born when he died.

Action looked high or medium but he was playing very thoughtful lines while glancing at charts. Hard to tell from side of stage. He took notice of the @Bruce Johnson scroll bass I was playing that night and approached me and said "hey man I really enjoyed that ampeg thing you got going"...then I went into fanboy mode.."are you...dude can I take a photo with you"....lol and here it is..
