What basses are on your wishlist?

Another modulus Q5 but one with a truss rod and a straight neck. First one I had didn't have either and just couldn't get the action where I wanted.

#1 Fender Pino Precision- so called the best P-bass out there by Fender. Never played one but enough players have said this.
#2 Godin A4 fretless- Played one once and it the electric that sounded closest to an upright to my ears. Plus my intonation was perfect when I tried it which is not the case with my Fender Jaco fretless
#3 Ken Smith Burner 5 string, walnut top- Played one for an hour in Sam Ash and boy that bass sounded amazing. Really loved the string spacing, just perfect for me.

17 years ago, I wandered into Southworth Guitars in Bethesda, MD (a fantastic vintage guitar shop specializing in old Fenders and Gibsons) and fell in love with a '64 P-bass they had, black with matching headstock. It looked great and played beautifully. Way out of my price range though.

I still wish I had that bass. But I still couldn't afford it if I crossed paths with it again.

A basic no-frills 5-string from a custom builder with exactly the features and ergos I wish for:
8-8.5 lbs, 22 frets, 18-18.5mm spacing, great pickups and hardware, passive or passive/active switchable, cool design, no neck dive, and so on.

Otherwise, in no particular order...
-Music Man Caprice 5-string (emphasis on wish-list).
-G&L 2500 with 18-18.5mm string spacing and blend pot (see above).
-Lightweight Jazz-style 5 with 21-22 frets with a lower horn that doesn't impede access to upper frets.

I tried a MIM Fender Mustang two weeks ago, and I was shocked how great it was for the price of $499 new.
Currently setting money aside for that Mustang in sonic blue. Mmmm mmmm yumm

Worth it! ......I got a used sonic blue/ rosewood off ebay a few weeks ago. I can't put it down.

Well as a lark I would probably go for a p-bass body with Jazz bass pickups and a fretless Jazz neck. I like the Jazz neck and pickups but not the body.
