What basses are on your wishlist?

Well, I've said I'm done buying basses before and I was wrong. So, I won't say it again. One day I might buy a Rickenbacker. One day I might buy a Fender Mustang, one of the new ones. One day I will get a 5 string that is not the current Ibanez I own. The 5 string will probably be a Bongo or a Ray, or even a Fender.

One thing for certain is I'm done buying Ibanez basses. Every time I buy one I end up selling it. Eventually I'll sell my Ibanez 5, I'm sure eventually I'll sell the Ibanez 6 string fretless as I'm getting a Sterling Ray34 CA fretless this weekend. I'll probably keep both sparkle Talmans I acquired. I tried selling the silver one but no luck.

My life is a mess, I need to stop buying basses.

In addition to a 1985 Peavey Patriot, my main bass is this 2014 MIM Classic 50s Lacquer. I've also owned a 2006 '57 AVRI in trans white, a 2008 American Standard P in Black, a 2010 American Standard P in Charcoal, a 2003 (IIRC) American Series P in Butterscotch, a '98 American Series P in Black, a 90s MIM fretless Jazz in that deep blue/violet colour, and a Squier Vintage Modified fretless sunburst Jazz from around 2006-2007.

What I *want* includes:
- a single coil P (ideally in Nitro butterscotch/yellow), either a Tele or a reissue of some sort
- a Roadworn Flea Jazz (one of the best necks I've ever had my hands on)
- a P or a J in a sparkle or metallic finish, like an Adam Clayton sig P, or even a MIA Candy Cola P or J
- a 4-string Stingray
- a 5-string P bass
- a Lakland Duck Dunn

I can forget about Santa, I'll never be good enough for any of that, let alone all of it. :)

First of all: i DON'T need more basses.
(in real life I'd need other gear, like a good EUB for travelling; I could add obviously a second double bass, and the violone I'm dreaming of, possibly a XVII century german one...)

But we're both on the BG forum and the Dream Section, so let's start playing:
- the Bass Of My Dreams when a was a teenager: Ibanez MC924. Fretted;
- but a fretless brother would be perfect: let's add a MC940;
- a beautiful J-style bass: I'd say Sadowsky, no doubt;
- I couldn't allow it to stay all alone, so a 5 stringed brother should follow (for the very rare cases I play a fiver);
- a good old hollow-body, maybe a Gibson EB2, for my quite rare classic rock gigs;
- a vintage P, and a vintage J: everybody needs them (but there are too many colors to choose from, and MN or RW... let's say two of each)
- a Stingray and a 4001: just to go beyond my actual idea that "they're great basses, but not my cup of tea";
- a high-C fiver to copy my beloved Mr. Swallow: Parker? Citron? any suggestions?

Possibly, a bank robbery to finance all this.

I would like a G&L SB-2, tone control option, butterscotch blonde, vintage tint maple neck, one ply black guard. AND, an EBMM Ol Smoothie, translucent white blonde, ebony bound neck, tort guard..

I’m pretty much a Fender guy, so what’s missing for me would be some version of a single coil, most likely a reissue of some sort or a boutique version. Also, a Roadworn sunburst j! I picked one up once and it floored me...should’ve grabbed it.

Having said that, my eyes are always open and scanning cl etc. for any bass for sale!
