What Boss Pedals Are In Your Setup?

I use the GT-10B, not sure if that sounds as a "pedal". I've previously owned a DD-3, an OC-3, and an ODB-3. A lot of people hate on the ODB-3 but I liked it, and use a model of it in my multi-FX unit now. As people say so often, it sounds bad UNLESS you spend some time tweaking it, as it has a massive gain range and is very sensitive; what you run into it has a big impact on how it sounds, and how it responds dynamically.

The OC-3 is good, tracks well but barely any better than the OC-2, which is disappointing considering how much newer it is. The Polyphonic mode is handy, even on bass, but makes the effect sound worse than the classic "OC-2" mode. The distortion in it is actually very usable, and works well with the octaver. The bass input jack is a little bit redundant cause as far as I could tell, all it does is change the tone of the distortion. As mentioned previously, I think the Boss bass inputs generally don't do much except water the effect down a little. Worth it for extra tonal range though.

The DD-3 was great. It's a pretty standard delay really, but hey, it's 20 years old so what do you expect. It has a good enough delay time range, though the longer times on the DD-6 and DD-7 are very welcome additions. It's also lacking the extra features of those pedals, but for a basic, solid digital delay pedal, I think it's the best there is. I would recommend the newer versions over it because they don't cost much more now, and those extra features will come in handy.

I've been using the GT-10B for over four years and it's a tank. I have it set up in manual mode, in which it effectively emulates having three effects stompboxes (with tap tempo for the delay), a tuner, and an expression pedal that switches between a volume pedal and an effect. Another switch controls the expression pedal, switching between bass wah and a whammy effect. I have different banks for different whammy effects (switchable with dedicated up/down switches), but so far I'm only using two. I have plans for a third though.

I have the RC-3, OC-3, ODB-3, TR-2, SYB-3, BF-3 & CH-1.
All of which have been on my board at some point, however I'm only using the BF-3 & CH-1 at the moment.

RC-3 is awesome but I just don't use it
OC-3 is good but I use a Pog 2 now
ODB-3 is okay but to much white noise when not playing
TR-2 is good but I don't use it enough anymore
SYB-3 tracks poorly but is not without its merits
BF-3 is awesome (also my newest)
CH-1 is better suited to guitar but does what I need it to do

I have a Boss OD-20. Most of the settings are not especially bass friendly, but the Klon klone (lol), Tubescreamer and Fulltone settings are pretty good at retaining bass. The octave down is pretty good at tracking and goes down to the the 3rd fret on the E as well.

I have a BF-2 now, but I used to have the CEB-3 and the ODB-3. The chorus and overdrive just weren't enough effect for what I like doing. I just like my effects to stand out. But the flanger sticks out really, really well in my experience.

I got a soft sport for Boss pedals, cause when i was like 14 ans started messing with electric guitar, my friend got one beaten up distortion pedal which sounded great (while I had some cheapo with a lot of hiss).

At the moment I'm using TU-3 and CEB-3.

I recently acquired the latter and I'm very hapy about it :)

Here's my rig:

Had an OBD-3 for a long time and got rid of it, I liked it but really didn't need it and was downsizing a lil at the time.

Before that: I had an OC-3 for about a week, didn't like how artificial it sounded.

I had a PH-3 for a while and really tried to like it, but I think I need a Flanger instead to get the kinda sound I wanted out of it. So that one went bye bye too.

Korg covers my tuning needs.

Working on sounds for our latest album, I'm figuring out what I need my bass to be able to sound like, and I'm working out a new pedalboard to access all those sounds on tour.

So right now I have the MT-2 and it's great for just all out Gnarly-ness. Real out of control vibe.

I'll prob look into a BF-3 for a real synthy-type swoooosh sound I've been working out.

Other than that, Boss pedals are buffered so if you arn'ts a tones chasers likes me than it doesn't matter. I'm putting most "effects pedals" in/out of a loop box.

The rest of my chain will either be a VTDI, or just a TYPE85, or JDI direct box to FOH, then my stage rig (which is a PA style 3way cab or two on stage feed by an XLS2000) gets it's signal from an Aguilar TH pedal on my board (to tweak the stage sound).

Currently-LS-2. great for having my keyboard & a bass ready always!! So many switching options available & separate volume controls
LMB -3 Limiter/enhancer - pretty good for ironing out peaks prior to an envelope filter.

Previous :- OC -3 ok, but, not my thang.
Boss Bass Chorus- found it lost a lotta my lows - so again......nup.
ODB-3 ,- cool pedal, but not the type of OD I was after.
