What browser are you using?

I was a long time user of Chrome until recently I noticed it was slowing down and eating a lot of system resources in the process. I started using Brave browser more recently. It's based on Chromium however their big focus is on privacy while blocking ads and trackers. I like there is no apparent real need for me to install an ad-blocker extension and also it is speedy. I still use Edge/IE from time to time when need be. Random off topic, but what browser are you guys using/favor and why?

Firefox for about ten months now.

I'd been using Chrome forever, and then I started getting blue screens of death. Switched over to Microsoft Edge, seemed like that did the trick, but then started getting blue screens with that one too.

At that point I was pretty concerned that the problem lay elsewhere, my logic being "Surely two browsers can't be conflicting with (whatever), and causing my computer to crash..." - But since switching to Firefox, I haven't had a single issue...:wideyed:

Yes and no.
Common topic threads I'll usually check to see if/when another thread was created. It's not TalkBass or moderator policy, just something I do.
Then I noticed all the browser threads you started.

I’ll play. When I transitioned from Windows to OS X a few years ago, I started out using Chrome. Password management became a huge headache though. About a year ago I realized I needed to strengthen all my online passwords and make every one of them unique. We’re talking over 100 passwords. With Apple Keychain able to manage and sync passwords across OS X and iOS devices, it was a no-brainer to switch to Safari. Have not regretted it at all. I did run into a website that didn’t work correctly with Safari so I switched to Chrome for that. I can’t remember what the site was but this has only ever happened that one time.

On the relatively rare occasions when I do use my Windows system, I use Chrome.

I've tried a few over the years. Vivaldi was fun, so was SRWare Iron.
I may even give the new Brave browser a try.
I always come back to Chrome for the seamless transition between my mobile device and desktop browser, as well as the integration to my Pixel 3XL.

I use Chrome as it seems to be the most compatible with websites. I occasionally try alternative browsers but always come across a website or two I use that they just don't handle properly.

My wife uses IE, Edge, or Chrome depending on which website. There are some sites she has to use for business that only work properly on one of the three.

If I were using Android mobile devices, I’m sure I’d be using Chrome. I’m really tethered to the Apple ecosystem now though. And honestly (or naively), I trust Apple more than Google with my privacy.

My wife is the same way. She's all Apple all the time. She's got it finely tuned to her life and it all works great for her.

Back in the day I used Firefox when it first came out because it seemed to handle what I needed in a browser better, however I find myself often having a love-not love-more not love relationship with Firefox now. Chrome just slowed down a lot for me and I noticed all the resources it was was using as well as the privacy stuff Google is being looked into with. I am liking Brave though and honestly the beta of the new Chromium based Edge is pretty solid too but I don't use beta products in my production. I tried Vivaldi when it first came out as well, it was good in some ways but never really gave me enough to want to stick with it full-time.

I'm up and running on my Windows desktop and my Android phone with the Brave browser.
Wow, it's slick. Fast too.
The only thing I don't like, and this applies to ad blockers too, is the space where the ad was is still there. Sure, the ad is blocked, but now I have this blank box/space on the webpage where the ad was.
Too bad they can't configure it to block the ad and reclaim the space for the web content I came to see.

Waterfox.

Back when I started using it, Firefox didn't have the ability to run at 64 bit so I switched to waterfox. In '17 or so firefox gave the ability to run 64 bit but much like Java, you had to search for and physically download and install that version. The default was 32.

I've used it so long I've not looked back.
