Chrome on my mobile, Firefox and Chrome for work. I also have some work required sites that don't play nice with Chrome but like Firefox, and vise versa.
I, too, was a longtime Chrome user on my computer. I still use it on my Android phone and tablet... but when I got my current MacBook Pro at the beginning of 2017, I thought I'd give Safari a shot. What I read about how Safari shuts down pop-ups and automatically plays videos embedded in websites, it sounded pretty sweet.
Folks, it's been almost three years and I'm still a very happy Safari user.
Plus, I really like how I can click and drag .gif files to the Safari icon and have them go into motion = slick.

After one month of using the Brave browser on my Pixel, it claims to have saved me an hour of time.

On my phone, I'm now using DuckDuckGo browser. I tend to use whatever browser lets me install the most ad blockers and privacy plug-ins.

prior to that Chrome, but it has been crashing and not playing back videos unless I go through the incognito window which doesn't include my extension I added so it became pretty much useless their so called fix is turn off your add in and your hardware acceleration yea that does nothing
only resolution is reset Chrome to default, than you lose anything you have added into it accept I think bookmarks nice solution NOT

I had to bail on the Brave browser today.
After about a month with sync being broken, I couldn't deal with that any longer. I use Chrome across five different devices, so that sync between them all is important to me.
It's a great browser. I love the built in ad blocking, but sync is more important to me.

Today I loaded Brave (Ubuntu 18.04 MATE) and will give it a shot for a while.
One thing that I found is that I cannot log in to TB unless I allow cookies (Shield down), with Chrome and Firefox both with Ghostery addon I never had a problem with everything blocked (my default preference).

Well Brave didn't last long.
I also had a problem loading Whatsapp web. The progress bar got about 80% through loading the page then hung at a blank screen with the little thing going round in a circle in the centre. I left it for about an hour while doing something else but it got no further.
If I'm going to allow Whatsapp (owned by Google IIRC) to load cookies it somewhat defeats the object of having a browser that blocks cookies so I have reverted to Firefox with Ghostery.
What was the issue with Brave?
I like the browser. I wish it had sync (passwords and history specifically) functionality between devices.

I couldn't get it to load Whatsapp web*, I assume that it stalled trying to either load adds or put cookies on my PC (both blocked by Brave), neither of which I want and because Firefox and Chrome both work (with Ghostery addon blocking everything) I will carry on using either of those.
I liked it with the exception of having to allow cookies and adds on certain sites (TB for one) and will probably give it another try in the future.
*I have a 6 week old grandson that I have yet to see in person. My daughter posts daily updates, photos and videos on Whatsapp web so it is currently a must have.
Just realized I didn't mention it in my first post in this thread, but yeah, I used to use Avast Browser, but as was the case with Chrome and Edge, my computer was crashing while using it...
It's been about 1.5 years now using Firefox, no issues.
