What can we possibly expect from Yamaha taking over Ampeg?

Have you tried the JJ 6SL7 yet? The one I have had for the past year or so is still sounding good with no microphinics.
I think I may have a while back, but I can't remember. Mind gets a little fuzzy. Been wanting to try the Tung Sol you recommended but got a little put off by the price and just stuck with my Sylvanias. But if I ever blow any more tubes, I may end up having to make peace with new tubes. Even the Sylvanias are getting up there.

I wasn’t tracking a new Tung Sol 6SL7 - just the ones from a few years back that you and I don’t like. Did they come out with an update? I do like their 12ax7’s.
I could have sworn it was you telling me you were having good success with the tung-sol 6sl7. But I don't know if they're any good or not... I was just going by what I thought you said, Gustav. However, there's some really super high-end DI preamp it came out recently that uses them and it sounds good to me. Wish I could remember the name of it.

From what I understand, Yamaha also makes great Snowmobiles. I have two friends that are avid snowmobilers, who swear by Yamaha's sleds.
Their motorcycles are top shelf right now too.

Tired of no feedback or commitment from Yamaha/Ampeg
So the announcement that Yamaha would take over Ampeg was made on May 10th 2018.
Its now a month or two from May 2020 - and for all the ideas submitted , not a single word from Yamaha as to what they are going to do - what ideas they are going to take on.
Its about time Yamaha committed to something. - the honeymoon in over Yamaha - deliver on something or have long standing enthusiasts abandon the brand!

You're free to do whatever you want. Me, I'd rather they take their time, make sure the new products are worthy in every way, and not have to eat a bunch of returns, as we end up paying for them in higher prices anyway.
Or, Yamaha is letting Ampeg do what it does, and really has no intention of fixing something that isn't broken? Seems like a smart business decision to me. I'm personally not much of a fan, but you seem to be underestimating how many buyers obviously are.
Ampeg certainly did have it's share of problems with the PF500 and 7 Pro but that was resolved long before the sale. What other products existed with such dire problems that would require a year of R&D and repair?
While there is certainly strong brand loyalty, it can't help the company any by not releasing anything new for such a long time.
Especially considering the advancements made by other big companies like Mesa, Quilter, GK, etc.
Any kind of announcement would be welcome; ghosting the consumer doesn't seem like a good marketing strategy.

As we're all on the edge of a global recession then doesn't it make perfect sense to do nothing?
Well, which is it, a month, or two months? Do you know what day it is, today, to be able to determine this?
I don't know of any major company that's been around longer than 15 years that didn't have at least one problematic amp. Mesa recently had a bit of a fiasco with the M9 having problems, and Mesa's solution was to reduce the wattage to the same as the M6 and not tell anyone. I clearly remember GK having ongoing problems with overheating in the 80's. And don't get me started on Fender!
There's still plenty of quality Ampeg product available. It's not like it's disappeared. And I will once again remind people what happened during the first two years of Ampeg ownership by LOUD when they rush-released product. So my question is do you want it good, or do you want it quick?

100% agreed that all companies have problems when building new products.
Ampeg had problems with the PF500 and 7 Pro. These issues were resolved long before Yamaha bought them.
You're earlier post praised Yamaha for waiting to do anything until there problem amps were fixed.
I'm asking what problem amps are left? None that I can think of.
Don't get me wrong. I currently own 4 Ampeg amps and love them all.
Frustrated that this company has not designed or built anything new in quite a while.
Seems like a great time to use new technology to move the brand forward.
They certainly have older designs from the past mastered.
You guys should just be happy that Ampeg (the company) is still around and had not been put out to pasture.
I'd say that's accurate.
That, OTOH, is not accurate at all. I praised Yamaha for not wanting to put out NEWLY DESIGNED products until the design is right and solid. I also praised them for not leaping in to manufacture existing products right away till they've had a chance to make sure the designs and QC were up to their standards. Resolving problems doesn't necessarily mean everything is up to Yamaha standards.
A company can only put out gear for the first time once. Again, I'd remind you of the disastrous first couple years of LOUD ownership.
Agreed, that was a horrible time but I don't think there should be any guilt by association between LOUD and Yamaha.
The circumstances and the corporate culture couldn't be more opposite.
There really aren't that many products in production to evaluate and most have at least a few year history.
Even if Ampeg didn't have anything in development, how long should it take for a huge manufacturing company with decades of MI design and manufacturing experience, to design and build a new bass amp?
(really a question for those of you in audio design and manufacturing)
