I think these are fun and I have gotten a lot of ideas over the years with various polls, so here goes with a completely scientific yet non-binding poll.
First off, it's already been refinished, so please don't comment on ruining the value. In fact, it was refinished in a pearl white, with no clear coat - that's one of the reasons as to why I want to repaint it. It's not that the pearl white looks bad, it's that it could look so much better.
Second, I'm really thinking that I want to stick with actual factory colors, as opposed to custom colors. That being said, I'm not 100% sold on that, and I happen to have some really nice Playboy pink (Ford color from the 60's) left over from another project ... I already have several candy apple red Jazz basses, a blonde one, and a sunburst one or two, and I don't care for natural Jazz Basses, so all of those colors are out of consideration.
Third - I'm not doing this for resale value. I don't plan on selling this bass, ever.
Fourth - Carrots is not a color, and any comment stating such will be ignored.
Fifth - I reserve the right to change my mind at any time, ignore the results of the poll, etc. That being said, I do appreciate the ideas and input, I just haven't made any decisions yet. In other words, it's me, not you.
Also, I have the pickguard in the pic on the bass now, but the factory guard was black. I also have a white-ish one (it's either white, parchment, or mint, I don't know offhand and it's buried in my gear closet). I can also make any other color pickguard that I need, so pickguard color is wide open. Of course, there is always the "no pickguard option."
Finally, I don't want to mess with the headstock, so matching headstocks are out. Luckily for me, in the 70's fender didn't offer factory matching headstocks, so LPB for instance would still look great.
Edit: I'm looking for a solid color, nothing transparent or stains.
so, let's hear it! Pic attached for reference!
