Warm beer ( dark gold flake) mid coat
Wino (burgundy red candy)
Then cleared:

If I own this Bass, I will aging the white turn to yellowish vintage white, then install a worn black pickguard. That's the bass just look nice to me.

Yeah, see that's a problem right there with the lack of clear coat ... The pearl white will never age

Nightwatch Blue used to be available in Acrylic lacquer. It’s essentially 2 colors in one. In low light it is black, but in a spotlight or sunlight, it’s a deeeep blue. When buffed and polished and in bright light, it looks like you could stick your arm in it up to your armpit.

Natural wood, clear urethane or Tru Oil finish and a satin black pickguard. No matter if there are a few dents or scratches, this will have a road worn look which is trendy.

It will look like a professional instrument and you won’t want to change anything after doing so.

This is my 73 that was lake placid blue but as you can see I set it on fire a few times…finally had it returned to the original color with all the covers and hardware.

I think they are technically '60s Fender colors, but I'd go Burgundy Mist or Sherwood Green. Or Sonic Blue, always a good call there...

Black, black or black would look good. No tort, no problem. Stick with a black PG!

My vote goes to "don't paint it!" Looks great the way it is, unless you hate mojo and are inching to paint it...then I'd just do white again.

Can you look in the neck cavilty or controls cavity and see what the original color was? Can you tell us the last two numbers of the serial number? I'm curious if it's my old '72 J.
