not sure why i'm asking, but i'm wearing black socks with white logos. yesterday, i wore blue socks. all crew length. i admit to sometimes wearing socks that don't match

what color socks are you wearing?

I wear black socks because I am lazy. I dislike matching socks after doing laundry so I wear socks that all look alike. When they start to fade they are replaced. This is a real timesaver in my life. So far, I have saved enough time to extend several of my naps.
Black.

When working, and therefore booted, I'm using heavy hiking socks from Jeep so there's a logo and greyish toe and heel padding bit.
Off work days, plain black.
All mid-calf.

Today, dark blue. Yesterday, pink ones that say "BOOBIES" in big letters on them. I am very serious about socks.
I wear different colored ones. I could never wear just one color because I couldn't stand the idea of wearing a new black sock with an older one, for example.
Almost always white. Ankle length with sneakers/hiking shoes, which are almost all also ankle-length/hi-tops. Calf length with boots, which are almost all western-ish. I DO have about three pair of black socks, all identical, for if I need to get gussied-up. In my house I'm barefoot 99% of the time.
Funny that I stumbled onto this thread today, as lately I've been struggling with an existential dilemma regarding sock color.
When I was a kid, the most heinous fashion sins that a guy could commit were either wearing white socks with (dark) shoes or wearing dark socks with (usually white or light-colored) sneakers. I've followed those "rules" for decades. I have a drawer full of identical white athletic socks, since I almost always (in cold weather) wear white or light-colored sneakers; I have just a couple of pairs of dark socks for the rare occasions I have to "dress up" and wear (dark) shoes.
Well, just last week I decided that I needed new sneakers and went shopping, and for the first time in my life -- and for reasons I don't understand myself -- I came home with a pair of solid-black sneakers (labeled for "cross-fit" or something). And now I don't know what kind of socks to wear with them. It was easy when sneakers were white and shoes were dark, but... dark sneakers? I want to wear white athletic socks since they're athletic shoes (and because I already have a drawerful of them), but that looks funny to me and makes me feel like I should wear dark socks.
Maybe y'all can help me solve the existential crisis so I can get back to sleeping at night?

They're sort of pine green with ivory checks and diamonds and they say "this meeting is bull——" and I posted a pic and mods removed it once so I learned a valuable lesson about socks or something.
You don't have to wear 'athletic' socks with 'athletic' shoes, but always and forever, white socks with black shoes are for nerds, dorks, and geeks.

My kids bought me a pair of these, but I haven't worn them yet. Saving them for the perfect opportunity. 
I wear white athletic socks 99.9% of the time, except with dress shoes. Then it's black ones.
