what color socks are you wearing?

Always undyed with as high a cotton content as possible. Synthetic fibers, and dyes, cause the skin on my toes to turn into goop. As long as there is some air circulation, like the rest of my clothes, it's not such a deal, but on my feet, in boots, certain concessions must be made.

Hi Patti :)

as one of each pair has mysteriously vanished...

I have the same problem! It's one of the great unsolved mysteries of life!

I was tempted to post it here: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/wh...-things-thats-happened-to-around-you.1632546/

but since this is the socks thread...

Does anybody else have a washing machine that eats socks?

I don't eat socks, wifey doesn't (AFAIK :D) and we have no pets => it must be the machine!

Or has someone a better explanation?

Blueish wool hiking socks.

Merino wool hiking socks pretty much all year round. Thinner and lower in summer, thicker and higher in winter. Today they're sort of blue/grey. They're also covering a pair of silk sock liners (white) because I'm a wimp when it comes to my feet being cold.
