what color socks are you wearing?

Always undyed with as high a cotton content as possible. Synthetic fibers, and dyes, cause the skin on my toes to turn into goop. As long as there is some air circulation, like the rest of my clothes, it's not such a deal, but on my feet, in boots, certain concessions must be made.

Does anybody else have a washing machine that eats socks?

I don't eat socks, wifey doesn't (AFAIK ) and we have no pets => it must be the machine!


Or has someone a better explanation?

Blueish wool hiking socks.

Merino wool hiking socks pretty much all year round. Thinner and lower in summer, thicker and higher in winter. Today they're sort of blue/grey. They're also covering a pair of silk sock liners (white) because I'm a wimp when it comes to my feet being cold.

Well, so far, neither of our Miele vacuum cleaners have eaten any socks.

We have a Speed Queen washer and dryer. No lost socks with them, either (knock on wood).

I actually preferred to drive a stick barefoot (can grip clutch) and definitely am not wearing socks/shoes on the beach. Walking to my mailbox (0.333mi) I go all feet. Can be peaceful.

Black. Always. I have one type of black sock. Wear the same whether it's formal or informal situation.
Have about a dozen pairs of the same sock. I buy them in big bags. When they start to wear, I buy another big bag, and toss all the old.
