what color won't you buy?

I agree, no pink for obvious reasons...unless you're a girl.
Any color is fine by me if the price is right and plays like butter

That being said, I once set up a 'Hello Kitty' P bass copy (I laughed out loud when she brought it to me! I tell ya, pawn shops are a many splendid thang..) for a cousin and that thing surprised me when I was done with it. Still, it was GARISH.

With very few exceptions i've always bought used so color has never been a consideration. I've had shell pink, root beer brown, yellow, clear, you name it.
Color has never been a deal breaker, even burst finishes, which is the only finish i really don't care for; but if it plays right and the price is right...

I had a purportedly sunset orange Hotrod P that was in reality a deep transparent red on ash. Consequently I really dislike both orange and red on guitars.

My fave Fender color is blizzard pearl from the 08 American Standard line. I would do ... questionable things for bass in blizzard pearl.

Also partial to olympic white, sonic blue and seafoam green.

I own one black bass but don't intend to buy another — too boring (for me).

It's safe to say I'l never buy an instrument painted Antigua, chartreuse, bright yellow, fluorescent green, Sherwood green, Race green, Sienna burst, silver, olive, or hippie sammich

Not a big fan of "exotic coffee table"

I don't like red except for translucent reds in the wine red/burgundy-ish range. Also "heritage cherry" can work where it fits (certain Gibsons).

I like Fender's pastels, but have never bought one. I want something more aggressive (well, at least not so non-aggressive) on my instruments, and yet I always enjoy looking at the pastels (sea foam green, daphne blue, shell pink, whatever "pastel yellow" is called, etc.). Maybe someday...

As for orange, I could do that.

I generally like bursts, white and various off-whites (like a white that has yellowed from age), butterscotch, etc.

Agreed. It isn't exactly the aesthetics, it's the association. Sunburst finishes always make me think of cigarette smells and gin and this whole sort of seedy 70s thing. Which can have a cool of its own, but it's not me.

Antigua is gross looking.

Agreed also. I don't know who thought of that.

I have trouble with red and blue instruments. Also sparkly purple, orange or other "flashy" finishes. Also Antigua.

I guess I tend to prefer the classics - black, white (preferably a creamy white) and sunburst. Butterscotch is also acceptable.

Where can I join?
