what color won't you buy?

I don't care for black, white, pink or green for basses, but if I found a great instrument in any color I'd be inclined to buy it. I really like odd colors like orange, purple, blue, yellow as well as unusual bursts with the dark in the middle and the light on the edge, sort of a "reverse burst", or white in the middle blending into different colors on the edge. Sunburst is good, but only if it's done well. The colors should blend together smoothly and look natural, not black, neon orange and honey gold. I hate stickers on instruments. If Antigua would stay grey and white instead of going bad and turning to baby diaper burst, I'd like it a lot better. The secret to that finish is that the pickguard is part of the whole theme. Pickguards usually look like a hasty last minute add on.

Red is one color I'd probably never willingly purchase, unless it was a seriously great player and a too good to pass up type of deal at the same time.

I think the orange one you linked looks pretty sweet though.

This is me, yet I currently have two red basses...both are great basses (Bongo 4H and USA highway One Fender P) and were excellent deals..

Orange and green are other favourites

There are a few that I reject outright. Yellow is definitely one. Often it depends on the shade. I love green, but only certain shades, for example. In the last couple of years I saw Stratocasters in Miami Vice-looking candy colors like lime green-yellow that actually looked pretty nice.

It also depends on the body shape. I think black with a white pick guard is boring on some bass bodies, but JetGlo on a Ric is dead awesome-looking.

Going back to orange metallic in the OP, there was a limited run of Rickenbackers in orange metallic not too long ago with checkerboard binding that looked cool. Again with the shade: plain orange is hideous; orange metallic may be okay depending on which bass it's on and what trim it comes with.

Brown. I own 2 Ibanez SR 500 Soundgear basses from the mid 90's. Those were my main players up until 2010. I wanted to get another one to compare new vs. old but the current SR 500's come in turd brown. How Ibanez thought that was a good idea, I will never know? I do have to admit though for 2017 and 2018 so far they also have a trans blue one with a matte finish. That one, I am actually liking.

I happen to love the idea of neon yellow/green and I plan to pick up a white one at some point...and make it look like it's been a murder weapon.

I agree, no pink for obvious reasons...unless you're a girl.
Any color is fine by me if the price is right and plays like butter
