Spider dragline silk is stronger and tougher than steel and kevaler. I had some involvement with a company playing around with it in the 90s. making the precursors to the silk is managable. The very difficult part, the problem that the company spent several hundred million dollars working on and couldn't crack was actually spinning the silk. It isn't just a matter of mixing the precursors in right proportions, there were many aspects including quantity and tensions that were critical to the spinning process that couldn't be solved.Invalid Link Removed.
