Found some regular hats, from Sabian — must be quite old by the look of 'em — that'll team up nicely with an extant crash. I have no idea really what's in store with these critters but the crash, which I recently reconnected with, coincidentally, is
magic. I just gave it a buff — came up
brilliant, don't know if it sounds better — it
seems to sound better — but it plainly
looks better

Vintage cymbals are rewarding, sometimes. I don't have too many. Sabian has an interesting
backstory, all tied in with ancient cymbalistory, generally, which has become a genuine passion, in these woods, in recent years. These new pies were conceived early on in Sabian's history, if I'm not mistaken.
They certainly have the blotches and bruises, the
patina if you like, to back up that assertion. I'm in two minds at the moment, whether I'll give them a similar treatment to what
the crash just had to suffer. Not fussed really, push comes to shove. I know they say you shouldn't mess with old world pie aesthetics, but I like shiny shiny hee hee. There
is a herculean task ahead, if I choose to accept this mission. Maybe I'll just turn the lights out and pretend.
I understand that, in the antiques trade at least, brass is one of the rare materials that will accommodate a good polishing and not suffer any loss of stature. Cymbals may well be the exception to the rule. There's a fair bit of superstition in play here.
Just quietly, there's another tidy little sub in the offing too, if all the stars align
woot We shall see. We shall see.
