For approximately the 33,064th time, I learned that I am lousy at estimating the volume of solids.

Don't even ask what I learned yesterday.

It's not so much the volume as the tone. Try tweaking the mids.

"This is the one chord that everyone around the world knows," says Randy Bachman, a rock star in his own right from The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive.

It dates to July 1964 — the height of Beatlemania. The band was about to release its third album.

For the first time, it was all original music. Plus, the Beatles were shifting away from their rock 'n' roll roots to a more poppy sound, and this album was to be the soundtrack for their first feature film.

They needed to make a statement.

After a lot of experimentation, the band come up with a wondrous, jangling cacophony of sound: the opening chord to the song, album, and film A Hard Day's Night.

"To me, it's like the feeling I might get if I jumped into a lake on a hot summer's day," Beatles superfan Jason Brown says.

"I don't think there's another song with an opening like that. It's just an indescribable chord of beauty."

Indescribable and — as it turns out — really rather mysterious.

Because for decades, no-one could figure out exactly how those two seconds of music were made.[…]

Facebook explains how it’ll review nude photos to stop revenge porn and, in the process, I discover what an NCII (non-consensual intimate image) is.

Simple enough: they say, you'll just have to post naked pictures of yourself online, and their cunning plan should take effect. Seems legit … Seriously, it's all a bit beyond me - not following the logic. My fear is, this is anything but foolproof. Still, I wish them every success. Someone needs to do something.

Vitamin C dosing helps heart patients A LOT.

Doing research for over a month in every spare second on CHF(congestive heart failure), AVR(aortic valve replacement), and CARG(coronary artery replacement graft) as a loved one is about to have surgery. Knew of the anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties of Vitamin C from research and self-experimentation(approx. 10 grams per day for over 12 years, extremely small and minor number of illnesses). Now I find this and will seriously ask the heart surgeon involved if Vit C can be given. Was not surprised at this finding, it should be expected. The question is will the hospital lower its profit by benefitting the patient?(less time in hospital, faster recovery time, etc)
