around $2500 back in 1998.

ampeg svt classic head - $1500
ampeg 8x10 cab - $1000

if you include tuner and such then add:

pedal tuner - $25 to $50...i forget
monster bass cable 21ft - $50
fender lake placid blue california clear heavy picks - $5

don't have wireless yet but always wanted it. also wanted a korg rack mount tuner which i still haven't gotten yet.

i had a mesa boogie bass 400+ with a mesa 2x15 cab at one point but i sold it. the ampeg is just simpler to use. i like to keep things simple as possible. basically just plug in and play. i don't use any pedals or effects. i did use a distortion pedal once for a song but that is out of the norm.

i'd like to get the orange tube bass amp head with orange 8 x10 cab. cost is around $4500 for that setup. lol

Truthfully, I wouldn't bother with a racked tuner unless you're also using a racked amp - when I use my Streamliner 900, I use an XDS-PLUS and Pitchblack tuner, and they work really well together...

If I were gigging an SVT-CL, I'd probably set up a mini pedalboard with a G50 wireless, and either a Pitchblack, Turbotuner, or Polytune, depending on which one you prefer... I've borrowed a Polytune a few times to see if I'd prefer it over my Pitchblack, and ended up sticking with the Pitchblack - I don't really need polyphonic tuning for my basses, the Pitchblack is plenty accurate, tracks really well, and *I* prefer it's display over the Polytune's display...

- georgestrings

PS - Shure's new GLXD6 wireless looks very promising...

yeah the rack thing doesn't really work with an svt head. lol

$300 for a beat up Sunn concert bass with a borrowed LBS cab. Not even close to some of you guys but then again I play in a punk band.

hey don't worry about it man. it's not what you play that matters it's the songs you play that do. when i started i had a GTX p-bass that was $50 and a dean markley head with a 15" speaker peavey cab. it cost like $250.

it may be better that way. if something breaks just trash it and buy something new. lol

$2200ish for amp/cabs, and another $1000-$2000 on my pedal board (more depending on what I "need" for the gig/jam). Heck, two of my pedals combined are worth more than my MM Stingray. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

However, to me, my fingers are worth a billion dollars. Seriously. I would turn down a billion dollars if it meant losing the ability to play. Anyone out there who would take that offer?

Ballpark figures, might be off a bit.

Fearful 1212/6/1 about $1400 built & shipped.
Monique rackmount about $1200.
Carvin BX1500 around $600.
Custom ATA 5U case about $200
Furman rack strip $100
fDeck $100

Dang, $3600 or so. All new, and spread out over a few years though.

My dream tone cost me 3K. Actually probably about 5K by the time the dust settles as I run multiple cabs for different venues or reasons.

Most used. BNA Audio Greenboy Dually 215, Reiner Amplification 6SL7 Tube pre, and a Carvin DCM3000L.

You probably should have added a 2000 or 2500 plus so it doesn't looked so stacked. Too many big rigs and custom heads/cabs north of 2K.

Oh, and my shabby backup rig is an eden navigator with stewart amp with an eden 4x10. I'm a lucky man. Only took me a decade or two to scrape the cash up. Still... more cash in effects, probably more than both combined. I'm a gear slut for sure. It's an addiction I don't want to kick.

Carvin BX1500 - $500 used
2x Avatar B212 - $900 new w/ custom tolex
6 space rack - $190 new w/ custom tolex
DBX 166a compressor - $200 new years ago
BBE 462 - $150 used

That's $1940 plus I've got $125 budgeted for a used rack tuner and eventually I'll be ponying up a few ($449) hundred for a G55 wireless... And then I'll probably want a new 8 space rack to accommodate a 2 space drawer...

You see how this may never end! And that was going for some sort of "budget gear"

Two years ago I purchased a brand new Genzbenz GBE 1200 and a Tecamp L 810''-cab.

I had to pay about € 2.200,--, that'll be about USD 2.880,--. This american stuff is quite expensive in Germany. So is the cab, although it is made in Germany. But it is cheaper than a comparable Ampeg cab.

Still use my old wireless and tuner - and no pedals.

Ciao

Uwe

My main stage rig, until recently, was a pair of Markbass 4 x 10 cabs and an F1 head....$4500 AUD

I sold the F1 and one of the cabs and bought (second hand) an Ashdown 8x10 and an ABM900III (both of which were bought dirt cheap from a retailer who closed down and sold everything off for a song)....$1000 AUD!!!

Ampeg svt3 pro head250$ used
ampeg 410 cab 150$ used (I know)
G50 wireless. 150$ used
Custom made cable for said wireless 34$
Zoom AU2 acoustic guitar multi pedal (use it mostly for tuner, but get some sweeet tones)75$ used.21 foot monster bass cable(backup) 35$new
SIB 2 unit shock case.90$new.pretty basic stuff, but I have found the tone I have been searching a life time for.this ampeg stuff, plain Jane, its where it's at for me

Not at liberty to say what I paid for my Heritage SVT-CL/810e, but it was well over $1501 and costs about $3700 new.

However, yesterday I used my BA110, which I'm also not at liberty to say how much I paid for it, but it costs $180 new.
