OK, read through the whole thing. Love seeing the deals some of y'all got. I'm a huge fan of used gear, to the point I really can't imagine buying any new stuff. Not stuff that depreciates a lot, like gear, with so much of it out there.
FWIW, just a couple months ago, I sat down and figured out what it would cost me to replace every piece of gear I have, right down to every last stand, cable, etc. with brand new stuff. Not just bass gear but everything, which is quite a bit actually. Got some guitar stuff, a drumkit, PA stuff, etc. Enough I could gear up a whole band for a gig. Most of it would be considered sort of medium grade to good quality stuff but nothing really expensive or "boutique".
I figured buying the same exact model of everything possible, then for things that've been discontinued buying something new of very similair quality/features, from the same manufacturer if possible or a direct competitor if not, and for my DIY stuff, again buying something store-bought of very similair quality if possible and if not figuring having it built by someone like LowDownSound or other builder.
I couldn't believe it, I had to add it up twice. All this stuff around here came to a minimum of $15,000. Probably a little bit more. I somehow managed to accumilate all this stuff over the years for probably something around $3,000, certainly less than $4,000.
Yay me.
To the guy with the $150 Peavey rig...you rock.
I would jam that with great pride.
