Reiner Amplification tube preamp: about a grand
Used SWR Interstellar Overdrive: ~$400
Used Stewart World 2.1 power amp: $500
Rack case: about a buck (i.e. $100)
Bergantino NV610: over a grand
Patch and speaker cables: less than a buck

That comes to over $3k. It's a high volume rig, and I absolutely need it for my stoopid loud rock band. But I also like using it with other bands because it sounds so good. I call it my "faux SVT" rig, mostly because of the speaker cab.

Oh: I only use one preamp at a time, but I like to alternate and it's nice to have backup, so I won't modify the total cost. :p

1500€ for the head (Mesa M-2000) traded in for the new M-Pulse 600 for free
600€ for Mesa 4x10 (great deal, fair price ~900€, new price 1200€)

Considering buying a another 4x10 for larger gig.

The cabs were a local Craigslist find. I'm almost positive that the guy I bought them off of was selling them to afford drugs. He was spacey and slow in responding every time I spoke to him and the house was pretty bare of furniture and smelled richly of pot. Good condition too, there was really no other explanation for it.

The head was a trading game working my way up, but the initial item I started the chain with was a Line 6 DL4 I bought for 100 bones.

It was a slower way to go for sure, but I wasn't going on tour any time soon and I think trading and bartering is a load of fun.

Not your problem, is it? ;) Hey, if people want to almost give away stuff to afford drugs, then they get what's coming.

So you didn't spend thousands on a rig...look at it this way...you keep more of your money ;)

Ampeg SVT-VR - $1100
Ampeg SVT810E - $450

$1550 isn't bad for such a great sounding rig. I've heard worse that cost more. The SVT-VR was actually a B-stock item and I had a coupon code to knock it down quite a bit. The cabinet was purchased from another TB member that met me half way to make the deal.

Now I just wish I was in a band that would actually make such a big rig justifiable.
