what do 30 year olds listen to?

oh yeah, no problem! completely killer band huh!? I went for awhile where they were about the only thing I was listening to (well, them and some mid seventies Herbie Hancock).
i don't know if the random list of what I'm listening to is going to be interesting or relevant to anyone, but I think what the OP is really noticing is something I did too -- a tendency to kind of "freeze" at some point, maybe mid-twenties or early-thirties, and stop picking up new music for a while. For me it was all rock in my teens, new wave and progressive stuff, some techno, then in college I got into swing and folk music, then about 25 just stopped collecting new music at all. Finally, early or mid-thirties, I unfroze and started picking up new music again. Really listening to a wide variety now, not much country or hip hop but most other genres. I think it has to do with personal economics (getting a job, family, kids), all of a sudden a new CD on Friday seems like a indulgence, and then you're no longer up on what the hot new thing is.
36 here, I listen to everything, but to the point of, what have I bought NEW in the last year?...
