What do you consider cheating?

The agreement my fiance and I have is if I do something sexual/romantic with someone else without telling my fiance in advance that I'm going to, then it's cheating. If I tell her in advance and we work through the conversation that naturally follows, then it's not cheating. FWIW it's worked out well under certain very controlled circumstances.

Between me and my girlfriend, pretty much anything we don't enjoy seeing in public. We do have an open ended relationship, no I don't get to sleep with other girls, but I have many female friends, she has many male friends. We both find it acceptable to give a kiss on the cheek to close ones, hugs, and those. We don't mind if one of us goes out to dinner with some of the opposite sex without us being there, we just trust each other. We just know what's right and not I guess. In the end I'm waking up to her every morning and she's waking to me. Besides on public discussion of sex to other people we're both horrible prudes.

I guess an example is dancing. We started taking a ball room and salsa dancing class in high school. We were constantly shuffling partner and just something I got us too. Even to this day I don't mind, just another want to meet new people, make new friends.

What acts do you consider as 'cheating' on a spouse or significant other?

"Long" kisses and up is cheating (I'm Italian; short kisses on the lips, one or both cheeks, forehead, etc are fine). If it lasts more than a 1/2-second, that's a no-no - so is any groping or anything sexual.

In a mutually agreed upon ménage à trois ou plus, obviously, none of this applies.

Dancing is fine as long as there's nothing romantic going through your head.

In my 42 years once, and only once, has an excuse for dabbling worked. Seven little words that saved my butt and kept me with the same woman with no other temptations of any kind for over 10 years now. I can't say that I "regret" my one dalliance, but in retrospect it was a bad idea. Sure was fun at the time though.

Those 7 words:

"But honey...there were TWO of them!"

Mrs Bigfatbass, I love you. You are a beautiful, rare, and tolerant woman, and I am one very lucky man.

As for the OP, good luck brah, you'll need it!
