what do you guys think

I act the same way when I use distortion lol

Thats pretty good for someone who's been playing for a short time. For whom the bell tolls was the first metallica song I learned when I started out too!

I say keep jamming, maybe use a click (metronome) to keep sharper time, or just play along with the cd (assuming people still buy cd's, i know I do) . Oh and its a bit dark in the vid, but I think you should be using your pinkie on your fretting hand a bit more ;)

Nice job though, just have some thick skin when the youtube police start to flame ya.

Without seeing what your right hand is doing, there's only so much technique advice that can be given. Overall, it seemed like a pretty decent for a beginning player. It seems to me that you could be a little tighter with your timing. Practicing frequently with a metronome and/or a drum machine can be a big help in learning how to internaize a steady tempo (however, there are some people who completely disagree about the use of metronomes/drum machines as a learning tool). Remember, bass is part of the rhythm section - good timekeeping is CRITICAL to being a competent player.
