What do you hate more, Rickenbackers or Squiers?

I like both brands.

Oddly enough I own a valuable Rickenbacker guitar. It's a 1970 360 with slanted frets. I bought it in a pawnshop for ridiculously cheap and was excited to find one with the rare slant-fret option.

Yet, if I was a guitarist, I think my first axe of choice would be a Squire '51. The only Squire that Fender copied. I like that about them.

As for basses, I would like the 4003 style if it werent for the bad bridge design. My dream Ric bass would be a 4005.

I only hate people who hate other people because the other people don't love their preferred bass which in turn is perceived as hate. But I'm also not too fond of pico de gallo to be perfectly honest with you.

Rickenbackers are crazy expensive and sometimes have cosmetic imperfections. Squiers are dirt cheap and often better than Fenders. Both valid reason for hate, doncha think.

The only basses I own are Squier. Never claimed they were better than a Fender. Played one Rick, and I loved it. Granted it was a 3001 with old flats on it, which was amazing. Still though, I hate neither. And no carrots? What up with that?

Why would you make a thread on this? You're having a cry that someone made a thread with legitimate explanations about why he no longer likes a bass. It's not like he even said anything unreasonable or hated on them, all was said was that for the price you pay you would expect better QC. Time to grow up.

If we're lucky. Some of us pick up an instrument and if it played well and speaks to us, we overlook a few imperfections as you describe. Are you buying a bass or a trophy. I like my trophies blond (okay, that was soooo sexist, but I was trying to make a point)
