the last 100 yards or so are extremely steep, and a bit sketchy if you dont like heights. they have steps and wires anchored though. i was amazed at how many tourists were up there in loafer and polo shirts, with just one water bottle. im no hardcore mountain man, they were pretty easy to pass after clogging up the line. you have to get up there early to beat the tourist rush. great hike. great fun.

Very steep. To get up that last part of Half Dome, you have to climb up with the assistance of cables tethered into the rock face. A guy died a few weeks ago cause he lost his handhold on the cables.
I've done it twice. Last time was about five years ago. My bandmates, who were on average fifteen years younger than I (was 39 at the time) didn't make it half way. To be fair, they were all smokers. Not sure if I'm in the kind of shape to do it now.

I think I look like the dude in cash cab, after a binge. I drive a Sienna, too. Ain't got no cash, though.
