I am an commercial / industrial HVAC mechanic ...

I fix stupid big heating and air systems.

I work outside in all kinds of weather ,inside in all kinds of weather . I get to drive quite a bit . I get to see a lot of interesting things. Some days I work 20 hours ,some days just 8 and some days just a few . I never really know what's coming ,the job is reactionary

The money and bennies are good . We are in short supply so that's a plus . The recession never happened for me ,other than my retirement plans took a hit but are back up again.

I enjoy it but plan on 10-15 more years then a '50s something career change in a totally different direction. just about the time my child support obligation ends....

Quit a systems tech position with a defense contractor, and took a 40% paycut and accepted a position as a field supervisor with a local electrical contractor so I could be home for my 20 month old little girl. One of my favorite pics:

Not Subsea 7, though I have been trying to get their business locally. I manage offshore projects for a ship agency. That last picture was taken from a dock across that channel that Subsea 7 uses as a base.

Cool. I used to bounce out of New Orleans doing marine salvage work on the gulf, mainly after Katrina, and I always enjoyed looking at that stuff. They were mainly MPSV or AHTS instead of subsea construction, but they were still awesome. And scary to try to share a channel with.

So for those not playing music for a living, what is your occupation? I know there are a LOT of people on here that make a living by actually "living the dream" of playing professionally, but are there any doctors, lawyers, plumbers, bankers, or other occupational TB'ers out there???


For me, i am a college student going to SUNY Oneonta in central NY studying criminal justice. Right now i work nights as amy security guard at the Cooperstown dreams park. Basically its a baseball camp for teams that compete for the championship trophy for 15 weeks in the summer.



I really enjoy my job! How about everyone else??

Did you really enjoy your job on August 9th of 2012 (Thursday afternoon about 4 PM? Come on,.. think back now.... I have never in my life witnessed a thunder storm complete with quarter sized hail that continued for over an hour and a half.
Closing ceramonys were in no way shape or form gonna happen that day! What a great park! We had a blast that week! Hoping to attend this coming summer!

I am a full time student at UC in computer engineering. I start co-op next year (working full tome for a company for a semester) I'll be going to a company that makes broadcast transmitters. RF is my other forte, stemming form my other expensive hobby. Ham Radio

I am an Inventory Planner for a chemical manufacturer. My product line makes a cellulose based material that is used as a thickener in various consumer products. Latex paint most predominately.

I work for Carquest, delivering auto parts to shops, trucking companies, government institutions, and other places. It's a pretty neat job, though I really want to get into stock car racing. There's no money for that, though.

Was a landscape/ lawnmaint. Contractor,, but currently looking,, first thing people do when times get rough is mow their own lawn and pull their own weeds,,company small as mine cant float,,eco.omy drought,you name it,,i want an inside job,, no more 110 degree lunches,, lol
