this is me A mix of feeling, fingers and theory I rarely look at my fingers in fact I try to rehearse with my eyes closed sometimes because there a lot of gigs in dark rooms with sunglasses so the led lights look cool and the lasers don't burn out my retinas

Some sets I play are so ingrained in my muscle memory, I often find my mind wandering. I enjoy scanning the crowd for silliness, thinking about gear I want, etc.

That being said, my mind is on the music during most sets, typically preparing myself for difficult passages I know are coming up.

I voted "boredom" in the pole cuz I thought it was funny...

If you could record what goes through my mind on stage, it would sound something like this:

"I hope we're getting paid for this."
"I think my fly is down."
"The pretty girl in the first row just winked at me! No, she probably had something in her eye."
"Damn, I can't see the TV behind the bar from here!"
"I'm hungry. Do they serve nachos here?"
"OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG! I can't remember how the song ends!"
"1 a an e 2 a an e 3 a an e…"
"She definitely winked at me this time."
