I think the White Pearloid looks great on these. But if you're looking for something a little different, I put a gold anodized on mine.

It will probably be a month at least before I do anything unless I run across a heck of a deal,been off work for 5 weeks with one more to go after a minor surgery.With Christmas and buying the bass I'm kinda broke,just getting ideas! I had one of these basses (sold it to a friend), and thought the stock white was fine. I put an American Standard tort on it and it looked great. I think parchment would look good. I really like that gold guard, and I hate toe pix.

Now that you guys mention it,maybe cream pearl wouldn't look too good. I think I'll stick with white for now!
I would say regular old brown tort. And I'm not even a tort guy.

That gold anodized looks sweet. I'd go with that or a cream/parchment - to me, that really shows off that beautiful wood.

After giving it some thought, I've concluded parchment would be the ideal combination for that particular finish. But I tend to prefer subtle contrasts when dealing with woodgrain anyway. I'm of the school that says to either go incredibly subtle or make a strong statement - as in: Either "Oh!" or "OMG!" 
You know Tort is the only acceptable answer on Talkbass.
But seriously, Aesthetically speaking its good to not have too many colors/patterns/textures on an instrument. With most basses you already have 1 or 2 wood colors or a paint color plus hardware color. So that's why the white and pearl guards don't look right to me. There's no white anywhere else on the instrument to tie that too.
Black would tie in to the black dots, Chrome would tie in to the hardware, a Maple pickguard finished the same tint as the neck would be awesome. You could even get a flame or quilt thing going on. And honestly the tort DOES work because you have the creamy sections of it almost matching the wood tone. You might also consider tooled leather if you got the cash.

Hard call...maybe just change it week to week....it will be like having a new axe every time you change it. Me...I think I like the pearl the best....but u know absolutely nothing....
