And this is why I have a shelf full of pickguards.... So many decisions.

If that bass had a rosewood board I'd be firmly in the tort camp, but it doesn't and I'm not.

For that bass I have to vote black.

Black pearl would be my second choice and cream pearl my third, but black is #1 for sure.

Clear would look nice too, if you found a way to mask the control cavity.
 
I'm a big fan of black guards on Honey-burst American Specials. I put black pickguard screws on to complete the look.
