What do you wear on a gig?

I usually look in the dresser drawers and wear whatever is (reasonably) clean.

I once wore a hooded cloak:

Our drummer wore one in red with a tuxedo t-shirt, black slacks and black chucks once...crowds love that stuff!

Usually a band t-shirt, jeans, and my blue NuBalance shoes. Sometimes the shirt has had the sleeves chopped off, sometimes it's camo shorts, once in a while gym shorts (If it's really hot and I know it will be a crazy show).

and for any original bands, I'll throw on the tight plaid pants with a black t shirt.

my normal street clothes, if its some kind of formal gig, I'll dress the part. Or I'll wear something stupid to piss off my guitar player. hmm.. next show I may show up dressed like Tommy in the Pinball Wizard scene.....

i either wear crotchless leather chaps and spandex gloves or i wear shorts and a lightweight shirt (it gets hot onstage) i found ice hockey shirts are ideal

I typically wear a t-shirt and jeans. I'm thinking about stepping up my game a little bit though. That was one piece of feedback I got from another musician that attended a recent show: visually distinguish yourself from the audience.

I've recently gone from mostly t-shirts to mostly hawaiian shirts for blues/original gigs.
More festive, and as noted above, distinguishes you a bit from the audience.

I've been wearing a captains hat along with a smoking pipe lately. Specific to the gig but fun anyway.
