A Keeley version of the Fender Downtown Express. All in a single chassis like the express. The compressor would obviously be the Bassist. Some good Keeley concocted, bass specific dirt. Maybe a clean boost. Must have a DI out. something along that line would be pretty great.

At one time I had a Yamaha BB5N that fit that description perfectly, played real nice too.

not 24 fret. but one of the best sounding passive 5's, G & L Kiloton 5. coil tap for different output, good for country to hard rock, very loud passive bass with strong fundamental

It's in Orlando, in Florida, just south of Knoxville. Well maybe a few hundred miles south. Almost the same name you came up with. Bass Central. In the winter when we are snowbirds in Orlando I go there regularly. Spent lots of $$$ there but at good prices and from excellent people. Beaver Felton - Dave LaRue - Scott Ryder to name the ones I've worked with. And they have many basses in stock. YOU DO HAVE TO REMOVE YOUR BELT BUCKLES IF YOU WANT TO PLAY ANY OF THEM THOUGH ! ! !

they have left the building, 30 years ago i would drive to dallas to the closest one to go play SWR, NEW Eden, mesa bass amps, the whole line, and svts, . now i have one 4 miles from my house and every time i want to check out something new they tell me .... we can order it for you,,they wont even stock made in japan yamaha,

A Mesa micro-amp, pedalboard friendly, in the likes of Ashdown Ant or T.E. ELF...with a lot more power (like the Jule Simone, that's 500 w!!!)...and maybe tubes in it, Effectrode style. Just, NOT Subway-voiced.

I wish they had made 5-string basses from the 60s and onwards so you could get a vintage 5-string bass. I also wish that all basses were available as a 5-string edition so you wouldn’t have such a limited field to choose from if you, like me, play 5-stringers exclusivey

Is there anything (bass related) that you wish existed?

I suitable selection of *powered* bass speaker cabinets! I have an EUB with a Radial PZ-Deluxe preamp, but I can't seem to find a suitable powered cabinet to complete the stage rig (other than a variety of full-range "PA" cabinets). Honestly, the only thing I've found so far that *might* work is the Blackstar 250w extension cabinet.
