What does a heart attack feel like ?

I may need to go back to the doc. Now that I'm up and wlaking around(probably too much) I seem to have sprung a bit of a leak from the catheter site. Nothing major, just a trickle. I think I'm going to lay still for awhile. Thanks for the good thoughts dude, you're an ace. Maybe you could put a good word in for me with your former boss. I'm feeling very confused and more than a little scarred right now. :(:rollno:

Wow dude. That's huge. Hang in there man. Catching this early is key and hopefully you take relief in the fact that most people recover.

Exact same thing happened to a co-worker buddy of mine. He kept complaining of bad heartburn, and had taken a bunch of over-the-counter stuff. I told him he should go see a doctor, since the heartburn wasn't going away. He said he'd be fine, and was going home to lay down.

He died on his couch. His ex-wife found him the next morning when she arrived to return a book she'd borrowed.

So sad. :(

My grandpa died over a year ago from something with his heart, I can't really remember what it was exactly, but Grandma called my mom when it happened and me and her rushed over and we got there just after the ambulance... so we followed to the hospital... I was in the room when he died... he looked horrible... so sad...

I took a ride in an ambulance last Wednesday evening, EMTs paramedic, oxygen, nitroglycerin, the whole 9 yards. Mine presented as a sharp blowlike pressure, sort of like being kicked in the chest by a horse, and then having it sit down on your chest. Started dead center in my sternum, with the pressure being most of the center of my chest. But all of my vitals read normal :eyebrow:

The nitro relieved my symptoms somewhat, so they kept me overnight running tests and keeping me hooked up to EKG & what seemed like 19 other machines with bells & whistles...After good readings & blood work and passing a stress test, they released me, still not knowing what caused the pain.

I have never before in my life thought I was dying, but I did when this happened. Started trying to tell my wife what company had my life insurance, ....

Monday my regular doctor reviewed all of the tests and my history and figured it out. Esophageal spasms and muscle contractions in my chest/ribcage from my reflux. He said they present almost exactly the same, that he has had patients who experienced both and couldn't tell the difference, I know I sure couldn't...

The good news is that now I've had such a thorough check up that I know my heart & lungs are in GREAT shape, bad news is, can't have more than 2 beers in any 24 hour period (or any other alcohol for that matter).

It'll change you focus, that's for sure!

yep.....there i was walking around some shopping centre (two days ago) when i felt real light headed ...pins and needles mainly in my left arm and this dull high pressure pain centred on my lower rib cage ...like somone was pushing in and pulling out real hard on my lung or central body area.

and i sat down quick and thought to myself that this is probably somekind of mini heart attack...

it went eventually although my left arm stills feels a little numb.

so now i am into lifestyle change...no drinking ..smoking or fatty diets..

might even start getting back into excersise.

....i suppose its my body telling me to get my **** together.
