What Fender did I just buy?

The headstock on this bass looks like it could have been shaved down from an SX and a decal applied. I sanded one down to look just like this.

I might agree but every SX I've seen had the truss rod adjustment at the headstock. This one seems to be on the heel but I can't tell from the pictures.

For sure not a true fender. The neck does however look like it has a nice slab of Rosewood on it. I don't feel it's worth as much as a V4 but that's just me. So figure $200.00 with a HSC. If the OP feels like it was an OK deal for him, who are we to argue. However, if the owner of the bass traded the OP on the premise that it was indeed a "real" Fender, then the OP got screwed and should ask for his V4 back.

I'll say for about the same money you could probably pick up a used MIM Fender bass which might be visually beat up but a nice player and it would still be a true Fender. Plus, i'm fairly sure you could go on CL and easily trade that V4 for a "real" Fender product with no problems at all.
