what genre is primus

I personally think alt rock , funk rock , and experimental rock (best genre ever I love how it totally mixes everything up) I see a lot of people saying funk metal but I dont really think they are very metal sounding , p.s. PRIMUS SUCKS

apparently Primus is the only band which has its own ID3 genre tag. which is basically a metadata file for MP3's, the genre listed is "Primus"

I dont think so my friend, dont sweat it too much, it happens

there is just a golden era for some before they went to a major label. Especially anybody who has seen the early shows in SF and Berkley when they used the term. Claypool got tired of the saying too.

When I saw Primus in the early 90s, the crowd started in with the "Primus sucks" chant. Apparently, a girl nearby wasn't "in the know" because she took great offense and wanted to fight everybody in the audience!

An old Bass Player article described the music as "atonal freak out music". I've always liked that description.

I agree with whoever said Primus is in the genre of Primus. But they do have the Antipop album so possibly that's what they consider themselves.
