Hehe, I guess the easiest way to describe it would be as a mix of hardcorepunk and metal. Hardcore turned to 11.

I'm mostly an R&B, Funk guy and we are sorely unrepresented here.

Dunno about that (the latter part of your statement - not the first). Seems that a lot of people around here are into R&B - at least into the old-school stuff. More than a few funksters too, from what I've seen. Just not quite so many...

I don't "mainly play" any particular genre; rather, I tend to re-invent myself every few years and move to a new genre, although there has been plenty of overlap. As I look back over 33 years of playing bass, I've played, in professional situations:

Blues
Bluegrass
Folk
Rock
Hard Rock
Prog
Classical
Jazz
Jazz-rock fusion
Jam Rock
Acoustic punk.

That pretty much covers it. I generally don't spend any time listening to music outside of the genres I've played in, with the possible exception of Pop, which has its moments even though I've never really done a gig in that genre.

My band is heavy alternative/hard/stoner rock.

I listen to old school funk, classic rock, hip hop, stoner rock, punk, indie, metal, glam, dance, pop, whatever speaks to me. I don't like to pigeon hole my exposure to good music.
