The Fender Shoreline Gold, thinking of the vintage automotive paint, is a very subtle metallic finish. Nothing at all like the Lakland version of the same name. I like the parchment. I once chose a pearloid pickguard for a Shoreline refinish and it looked pretty sharp, but it was only a resale project. I would choose parchment (pretty much, if in doubt, always parchment).

Anodized gold can look pretty slick when it's got some wear and age on it.
