Now that you've momentarily removed your moderator hat would you mind sharing (as a regular poster) your thoughts on your apparent inability to differentiate between the underlying economic argument of this issue vs. the political?...
...For instance you rush to associate the two issues whenever the words China, Ampeg, or off-shoring are mentioned.
First off, please refrain from tongue-in-cheek insults. I haven't insulted you so show me the same courtesy.
On topic: Sorry, but you can not seperate the two as economics and politics are joined at the hip. That is a fact. Economic factors such as foreign trade policies, the strength of the dollar (or pound, euro, etc.), wars, interest rates, etc., etc are all attached to politics. Unfortunately, all those factors are controlled by politicans of the various governments involved. You do see the that, right?
As to when a corp moves production overseas, the above mentioned factors play a huge part in their decision making process. They have to consider them in order to survive. If you don't like all of the off shore moves then you need to start questioning your Conressman. All I will say is that I don't like companies moving their production overseas.

That's as far as I will go on that as it will get too deep into politics and my own political views. BTW, this "underlying economic argument", PM me so you can give me your take on what you are talking about. Maybe I'm not seeing what you are seeing. I have no problem having a sensible and open minded discussion via PM. I hope to hear from you.

Only the latter being a TB taboo in this forum, right?
Per TB rules, political discussions are not allowed anywhere at TB. Not even in The Lounge. They
always start a flame war between members and that's why politics are no longer allowed at TB.
BTW, what's the story behind your avatar?
It's from a poster of a movie. It is definately "tin foil hat" material!

I can't really go into what the movie is about as it is very political in nature.

PM me and I'll tell you more if you wish.
Later,
Kelly
