The used market is where it's at for Rickenbackers. Better prices, no wait, and all new basses become used when you take possession of them anyway. My current Ric is a newer 4003s in FireGlo; I got a great deal on it and it's 100% perfect. The last 2-3 Rics were also bought used and those were also purchased for good prices.

Helmut Hattler with Kraan is sorta jazz-rock. Loved his Rickenbacker sound in the 70s.

They are literally sold out of every single model and colour of bass guitar they make and have been for the last 18 months minimum.

You have to go second hand (minimum 2500/3000 eur) or wait and hope.
Guys Ricks are nice basses tone-wise .. I want one .. difficult to find at the “before” price, so I’m waiting.
In my opinion nowadays they are overpriced in Europe; however it is what it is .. non fanboy-ism here please.

They are active on instagram though! I just recently saw some lovely new green finishes they are producing on new instrument made this year.
In UK, private sellers are asking akin to what they bought them for! £2200 for a s/h Rick 4003? Naah....
Amazon started this cac. They come up on the top of searches for just about anything, yet when you go the page. it says 'This item is currently unavailable!' Now, all MI shops do it.Yes, and guess what it said?
He's ace, that guy. He stopped using Ricks after they folded up like a book.

I had wondered why he plays a Yamaha nowadays!
All the ‘70s Kraan albums and his solo album Bassball were definitely made with the Rick, so that was what I was familiar with.
