What happened to the harp unstrung?

I know this is a bit late, but I noticed that the harp unstrung has not posted here in about a year or so. This baffles me.

He posted here constantly, and then, all of a sudden, he stops posting, and then his account is suspended. Did he die? Or did he just get tired of posting here and deactivate his account?

I hope he isn't already dead. If he is, then that's sad, because I really liked a lot of his posts on here and he will be missed.

But if anyone else knows what happened to the harp unstrung please let me know.

I have been wondering what happened to him as well. He and I used to send PMs to each other often. He was always a very gracious and nice member here.

Like a lot of others he must have violated some rule that earned him the hook. We do not have to know the details but I think it would be a courtesy to remaining members to just post a generic statement. Something like, this member has been suspended for a rule violation. That’s all it has to be, and this would give closure to those who are wondering.

I really miss him too.
We'd chatted regularly on here, and even met up a couple of years back when he visited Dublin.
A lovely guy.
I've tried to get in touch via a couple of routes, but not heard back.
I really hope he's well.

Ideally it would be nice to have a button/folder for missing members . Even a memorial as well.

I don't know the specifics offhand and couldn't comment on these decisions anyway (privacy reasons), but I can say two things:

One, the "suspended" badge on the avatar does generally mean the account accumulated enough warning points from rule violations. "Suspended" is generally temporary, or else conditional, depending on the situation (e.g. if the member needed to rectify a conflict with another member before being restored). That's as opposed to "banned," which is generally permanent unless a banned member made a case to admin (via the help desk, which is public) why their ban ought to be lifted.

Two, we would NOT put "suspended" on an account if the member were known to have died: there's an "In Memoriam" badge for that.

Bikeforums does that. They have an administrative forum listing suspensions and removals.
