What head should I get for Ampeg 810

I have an ampeg v4bh (tube amp), which i can say is awesome.
For solid state I like Markbass, its a bit like a clean ampeg.
Heard good things about GK too, but never tried.

For the record, tube is better(IMHO), but if your budget is pretty tight it might be better to stick with solidstate to avoid looming re-tube and amp maintenance on top of the amp cost. Just so you dont get stuck with a broken amp.

Alright thanks for all the responses. Whats the difference between the traynor yba200 and the traynor yba200-2. But I think I have my list down to a few heads
The traynor yba200-2 for 450$
gk 1001rb 400-500$
or the gallien krueger 800rb. for 300$

So please let me know anyone which I should consider getting first!

p.s I'm very surprised no one even commented on the b4r or svt3pro
it's making me really happy I've joined this site :]

Traynor is a division of Yorkville. The original YBA-200 was built under the Yorkville moniker. I am guessing the YBA200-2 is the new name since the amp was transferred from Yorkville to Traynor.

If you do a search under YBA200 you'll get a multitude of opinions on the amp.

As for the B4R and SVT3PRO, everyone has their favorites and those are probably not as popular as other Ampeg models.

the YBA200 has a non adjustable bias, and there have been several posts of problems with those. if you're getting a YBA-200, i'd go with the YBA200-2 which does.

i have one, and i dig it. its a great sounding tube amp, but IMO its not all that powerful.

if you're looking for something that will always have enough power, is reliable and sounds really good thru almost any cab, including an 810E, i'd go with the 1001RBII.

I just want a head thats gonna be ridiculously loud for around 500$ lol. Not to the point were I'm going to blow all of my speakers though something that can just put out power.
I've read tons of good things on the 1001rb and the 800rb but have no idea which to get. It's either someone swears by the 1001rb or vice versa

I've owned the 1001RB and have played the 800RB. I love both, the 1001 is slightly more versatile (variable contour knob), that being said the 1001 sounds like the 800. The thing I like about the 800 is that it doesn't use a fan, it uses a heat sink. The fan is in a really bad spot on the 1001.
