What I saw at NAMM today.

Chuck rainey was there thurs, so was billy.

There is an ibanez premium gary willis that is NUTS.

New EBMM Ps are killer.

New Aguilar tolex color is the exact same blue as my dads '83 ford e150 interior.

Fender brought some great CS stuff for INSANE prices, but the new production stuff was mostly boring.

Warwick made a yin yang thumb and a bunch of other crazy customs.

Fodera, sadowky, spector, mtd, fbass, and pedulla had lots of beautiful stuff out.

Orange basses looked pretty weak.

Sennheiser HD25 plus sounded amazing. Kind of a grado knockoff, done really well with ultra tight but very deep lows.

Focal 3-way monitors sound really good, too bad they are 6k/pair. Seems like they were in every booth on the recording side.

U audio gave some compelling plug in demos. Kind of funny, the whole hall was booths alternating hand wired neve and la-2 copies ... And plugin companies. U audio showing off both.
Yeah, Warwick is really putting out this year, that Yin-Yang Thumb is a real beauty.

Happy to hear that MTD has high quality stuff out, although I wouldn't expect less of them.

Thanks for the pictures and reporting - I also would love to hear a higher-end Talman Bass with the Carey Nordstrand's "CND" P & Big Single-esque Pickups that sound monstrous in the SR-650/5/6 & SR-750/5/6 Four, Five and Six-strings.

...if you could get some shots from the Mike Lull booth, I'd very much appreciate it!

Cool picks, yeah that's Wooten for sure.

That bass Sheenan is using, looks horrible. I saw a picture of a titanium bass recently (probably this forum) but the neck was 4 tubes together so I don't think it's the same. Notice this one is a single tube and the frets jut out, also notice how Sheenan's hand is wedged in between two of the frets, that can't be good. Imagine getting your hand caught in frets while you are trying to move around. Also, the metal bar in the gut :P

On a more positive note every thing else is looking pretty cool ;)

Do check out Booth 2997 in Hall D (Pacifics / Dragonfly) My friend Harry, the owner of dragonfly guitars (a little known but amazing Japanese high end brand) will be there with a few guitars and a couple of basses to check out! They're worth checking out for sure if you have time. Tell Harry OI sent you ;)
Cheers!
