What Internet Browser?

I did a search already, however nothing turned up so sorry if this type of thread has indeed been done before. I am just curious as to what browser the TB community is using and would say is the better of all of them?

Personally, I have always been a loyal PC user for many years, usually sticking with Internet Explorer at home and using Netscape Navigator and Communicator (yeah remember those?) when in school. I started using Firefox when it came out and then I started using Chrome about a year ago. I use Chrome the most now, however the newer versions of Firefox and IE have promise. I guess there is more options and I am having trouble just narrowing it down to using just one browser.

Ff.

EDIT

One minor snag with Firefox 12.0 (in both Ubuntu & Edubuntu 12.04 LTS i386 & amd64): it's too new to access the setup page for an elderly Belkin F5D6230-3 (an 802.11b, 10/100Mbps, Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway Router). For this one function I had to install (from Ubuntu Software Center) Chromium Web Browser 18.0.1025.151 (Developer Build 130497 Linux) which is what Google Chrome is based upon.

I used firefox for a while, but around version 2 I just kept noticing stupid little glitches, like when I made a download, my comp wasn't that fast, so it would freeze for a bit. And it would browse slow. And........well it just sucked.

So I moved onto SRware Iron. The chrome without google's monitoring eyes.

Now I'm considering using Opera. Because it seems like chrome with cooler features.

I use Firefox, with my homepage set to google advanced search.

never had any problems even tho i'm running XP

Firefox, by far. It is more compatible with third parties such as banks and credit card companies than many others. I'm not an IE fan because MS has their mitts in everything and they need to be stopped!

Firefox went through some growing pains a few years ago. Their latest version is much lighter and faster. Support and plug-ins abound and it's cool to be able to craft your browser to your own unique preferences. Updates are frequent, keeping pace with ever evolving security issues.

Remember that Firefox is free-ware and deserves some allegiance for that if no other reason. If all software was free, it would be a better world..... :smug:
