My 2021 MIA Fender P has a maple board. It looks so beautiful that I got my Sire P5 fretless with a maple board too! Only my Rickenbackers have rosewood boards, which are also stunning in their own way.

I love a maple neck on a pbass. Unfortunately, all maple necks I had were with dead spots. So, all my pbasses have rosewood now.

I don't own a Pbass with a maple fretboard but I will, eventually.

I don’t know. I’ve had 3 Fender basses with maple fretboards, and I just prefer them with rosewood boards.
OTOH, I really love the maple fretboards on several Rickenbackers I’ve owned.

In 1975 when I went to Music Store to buy a P Bass

On the wall was a Olympic White Fender P with Black pickgaurd and Maple Neck/Fretboard and even being somewhat basic it attracted me and played it for 25 years

Was always satisfied with its look and even today one of my favorites

IMO, Looks awesome on a P bass, and telecaster. I prefer darker fretboards otherwise…

I prefer a P with a maple fretboard. For me, just easier to see the side position dots. On a rosewood board, they sit halfway between the fretboard and neck, and on some of the vintage ones, the side dots are so dark, you can hardly see them. And a Sunburst P with a maple fretboard just looks so damn sexy! And for me, it says rock and roll! Where a rosewood says Motown.
