what is the best cable for bass?

Thanks for pointing it out, "my man". Wasn't good enough I thought better of it, I guess. :scowl:
I have changed ALL my cables to Bayou cables. My Signal cables (Mic and line) my guitar cables, even the cables on my X2 Wireless beltpacks (X3). ALL my speaker cables including for my PA and monitors and my bass rig. And all of the signal cables in my entire backline (a 3 tier Keyboard rig and a 2 tier Keyboard rig with everything in stereo and 2 fairly complicated guitar rigs)...In other words I have a LOT of cable made by Butch. He once called me his best customer but I am sure someone else has taken my place by now. I bought most of my cables over 2 years ago and I have not had ONE single failure in the DOZENS of cables he made me. I have never been happier with a cable in my life and I can not recommend them enough. If you have the chance to try one you will understand....Frankly if I needed any more cable I would call him and be put on the waiting list!

I've bought from them. Great people, great service, lots of options, & fair prices. They use good materials and have great construction; which IME, is the main difference between cable brands.
IME, any sonic difference attributed to "super cables" is negligible, if any.
I'm another who still has a lot of whirlwind cables from the 80's and they work fine. I do have one PlanetWaves cable as well & it's a good cable. My speaker cable is from Butch at Bayou and I am sorry to hear that he can't do the custom cables currently, as he really does a great job and at a low price.
I use Monster Bass cables. The gold ones. Pretty happy with those and seem pretty indestructible.
Bumping this thread. I just picked up a 20ft. Zaolla Silverline instrument cable. Pretty impressive next to my Livewire cables 
. I also just picked up an Alessandro High End 6ft. Amp Two Speaker Cable, which stomps all over my Livewire 10ft speaker cable. Alessandro is having an online 25% off sale. Act now while it's still there!
I have a guy buying the bulk of my speaker cables tomorrow locally and I'll be selling the rest of my instrument and patch cables through here and craigslist. I'm going to build my own new patch cables and order another 20 or 25 ft. Zaolla instrument cable.
