What is the highest "note" on the bass? [Newbieeee]

g6? god i feel like a newb! I was thinking it was just abcdefg and like a was the highest pitch...theres more to it? lmao

To the newb - Music is from A - G. There are twelve notes and 8 letters.
A
A#/Bb
B
B#/C
C#/Db
D
D#/Eb
E
F
F#/Gb
G
G#/Ab
1 would be the first octave. Take an 8-string bass for example
The two strings below the E are B and F#
Then a C
The A below that F# String is the lowest note discernable to the ear. Therefore, it is an A1.
Move it up 70 notes, and that is a G6
It would depend on the amount of strings, what the highest string is tuned to, and how many frets there are (or in the case of a fretless, where the fingerboard ends). Of course, with a slide, you can get higher notes, but they won't be fretted on the neck.
I need to get a good book on this stuff or something, although ive only been playing for two months though

At the rate im going. I'm hoping i can be that good. But i doubt it some how. Alot of things are hindering my progression. I have a bass that fret buzzes like no other. It makes a little sad and turns me down from playing all the time. Just alot of things really. My passion is to be good at bass. Play by ear etc. Ooh's and Aah's

You've already got the hard part down. Motivation is half the battle. I've been playing for 11 years, and when I started getting serious about getting good and learning theory it all moved much faster.
As far as the fret buzz, you should take it to a guitar shop and have it set up. Or, when your lessons start up again, have your teacher set it up for you and have him show you how to do it in the future. Having a bass that plays nice makes you want to play a lot more.
How long you practice really doesn't mean anything. What do you do when you practice? If you're not doing something that involved applying yourself, it won't matter if you've been playing for years; you'll still not know anything down the road.
In terms of the original question; it depends on the bass and the things that make it up. If you include harmonics, it can go up incredibly high. How high exactly I don't know but pretty high.

I already stated, that the harmonic near the bridge is a G6.
a 6 string could hit a C7
