As far as I can tell from the pictures, the 3rd fret would be short of an octave and the 4th would be a couple steps sharp of an octave. This wouldn't even make sense for a dulcimer.
I suppose it would be fine for practicing fingerings but the pitches would throw me way off. I even like unusual tunings and temperaments but this appears way off from the reality of useable fret spacing per scale length. Maybe someone on talk bass could explain what this thing is supposed to be doing pitch wise. I would buy it out of curiosity but I'm moving in two weeks and my funding is spoken for.
