What Is This Vintage Bass?

I had an old Teisco, that looked suspeciously like this ax.

My Silvertone (and I believe the bass in question is also a Silvertone) was made by Teisco.

Agreed! The white rocker switches on this one make me think Teisco manf'd it -- I had a Teisco with those same switches.

This bass looks like the first bass I ever played a set with. It had a "Decca" nameplate on it. The neck felt fat like a baseball bat, but basses like this one have good memories for me. They're fun, they've got a good vibe, and sometimes they sound fantastic. My friend has an old Kay that's one of the best sounding basses I've ever played.
