What is your dream bass?

I’ll go first:
Black Korina jazz bass, with a clear coat
Wenge neck with ebony fretboard, mother of pearl inlays
Rosewood pickguard and control plate, with ebony knobs
DiMarzio model J’s, all black
With all black hardware

god, I’d be so cool with this bass. Someday…

I own my dream guitar and my dream motorcycle so I think I know what it’s supposed to feel like….

For better or worse, I suffer from "Restless Artist Syndrome", so much like actual dreams, what captures my imagination changes from day-to-day. That being said, I know what "canvas" I prefer to work with; Jazz bodies and necks with curvy fretboards. Beyond that, there are too many options for me to be satisfied with just one.

So, while I'm cursed with this restlessness , it's pushed me to assemble a wide variety of instruments, many of which still make me happy . (...and, hopefully, other people as well.)

My parts precision. Got the bass originally in 2018, rebuilt it, added the Jazz neck in 2019. Been my main squeeze ever since. I’ve tried to replace it, and just can’t, so I think I’m good!

My fretless Washburn that's on the same photo shares some of the above traits you mentioned, though it's far from being a FSO. Cool instrument nonetheless. Good luck finding yours!

Actually, now that I think about it, I DID own my dream bass at one point about 20 years ago. But I didn’t bond with it. I haven’t had anything to take its place as the “dream bass”.

Wrong section, but I think mine would be an upright. It’s just not in cards right now.

If it has to be a BG, then probably a comfortable unlined fretless P Bass that I have grown old with and it has the marks to prove it

Easy, Alembic series II in cocobolo. You will never convince me there is a better looking/sounding bass out there. I would do turquoise blue accents with it. One day, I will get it, but it won't be soon and that's ok
